Breville Juice Fountain Plus
You cannot get the same nutritional value from store bought juices. All commercially sold juices are pasteurized. A simple definition of pasteurization is super heating a juice to kill microorganisms, pathogens and bacteria. In a broader sense, it is any method meant to reduce the number of these items in the food we consume. The bad news is the process destroyed the vitamins, anti-oxidants and phytonutrients too.
Look at your container of orange or grape juice. Notice how one of the ingredients is ascorbic acid? Ascorbic acid is vitamin C. It is on the ingredients list because the manufacturer had to add vitamin C to the juice since the natural vitamin C was destroyed during the pasteurization process. This is the only way they can put "has a full day of vitamin C" on the label. Sure, it has the vitamin, but it is synthetic. You might as well drink sugar water with a multi vitamin.
Real fruits and vegetables have the natural vitamins in them. Plus they have proper balances of phytonutrients that science has yet to duplicate. This makes the real thing better than store bought juice.
